Battle Ready: My Completed Space Wolves Scouts and Tyranid Raveners

Painting and assembling the Space Wolves Scouts was a really enjoyable part of the hobby process, especially as I started to see the models come together from bare plastic into a cohesive, characterful unit. Each stage of painting felt like a small improvement over the last army I worked on, which made the whole experience even more rewarding. I especially love looking back and seeing how my techniques, confidence, and attention to detail continue to evolve with every new project.

Painting the Tyranid Raveners was a refreshing change of pace compared to the more structured look of Space Marines, with their organic shapes and flowing forms offering a lot more creative freedom. I really enjoyed leaning into the natural curves and chitinous details, which made the models feel alive in a completely different way as they came together on the painting desk. As my first Tyranids, they also pushed me to experiment more, and I’m really happy with how the color scheme helped unify their alien, predatory look.

With both Kill Teams complete, all that’s left is to set them loose across the battlefield and see which side survives the Killzone.
