Saga Volume Three!

Picked up Volume 3 of Saga last night, this has been a fantastic graphic novel and I would recommend it!

1984 by George Orwell

I did not get a chance to read George Orwell’s 1984 while in high school, but have heard many times how great a book it is.It has always been on my list of to read books, but never got around to doing so until recently. At time of this writing I’ve finished, and I have to say the book was fantastic! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading fiction or dystopian style novels.

One does not simply frame a map of Middle Earth

Found a awesome map of Middle Earth awhile back online, the map is printed on fabric and look amazing! The map is now framed, and hangs on our mantle along with Ichigo Kurosaki’s Zanpakutō .

Lovecraft back in order

I’ve been reading some of H. P. Lovecraft ’s work, and quickly realized the collection I had was not in chronological order. This lead me to do a little digging, and was happy to stumble upon a fantastic resource from http://cthulhuchick.com . The ePUB provided by cthulhuchick is fantastic, and in chronological order! I had to share this great resource, enjoy, and be sure to thank her @cthulhuchick

The Nameless City

After picking up our last board game Arkham Horror , We’ve decided to look a little deeper in to the genre by reading up on H.P. Lovecraft .An author during the 1920’s, Lovecraft created the Cthulhu Mythos an American Horror genre. This genre has became a hit among game developers, especially Fantasy Flight Games who has created a handful of Cthulhu based games. We have also looked ever so slightly into Call of Cthulhu, Quick Start Guide and role playing game based on the Cthulhu Mythos were you take on the role of an Investigator.

Still stranded on Smuggler's Shiv

The kids are still stranded on Smuggler’s Shiv. It has been a long 5 days, but they’ve managed to acquire the island map, and make a few of their fellow castaways friendly. In order to run the adventure I created a few objects to help out. First off we have a paper clock, this helps me keep track of the hour by hour effects such as heat, wandering monsters, and disease, the kids also get a kick out of it.

Geek or Nerd?

So the other day two of my book arrived in the mail. Pathfinder Advanced Player’s Guide An Introduction to Programming in Go The Go Programming book was so cheap I couldn’t say no (only $9.00), and the Pathfinder Players Guide offered new classes which my kids wanted to check out. So here is the question, does this make me a Nerd or a Geek ?
